Trayvon Martin

So, George Zimmerman, the murderer of Trayvon Martin has finally been arrested.

This case, this situation, is so very sad in so many ways. Last night I got a newspaper with a picture of Trayvon in it. It’s the first picture I’ve actually seen of him, and when I saw it, I froze and tears came to my eyes as I thought “a child, he was just a child!” It’s easy to fall into a state of feeling pure anger at Trayvon’s murder and at the reactions of some people, but first I think of this: Righteous and honorable people came together in order to force Zimmerman’s arrest. And also we must always remember that individuals cannot be separated from their social environment. The make-up of every person’s individual psyche is a reflection of their psycho-sociopolitical conditioning. This is true for everyone. We must always remember this and remember to constantly work to change our social environment for the better in every small way we can. If I can do this in this wretched Orwellian hell, you can do the same out in the “freeworld,” no doubt.

Love & Solidarity:

Rob
